I’ve recently been reminded of the importance of staying in touch with my life purpose – my real reason for being – and how keeping this alive and at the heart of everything I do leads to me trusting my gut instinct and in turn taking breathtaking actions.
There are many definition of ‘Life Purpose’ and my favourite is:
“The life purpose is the reason we are
on this planet. It is the thing we are meant to accomplish, the gift we are meant to bring.
Life purpose is not about a job or even an avocation.
It is the round-the-clock, twenty-four-hour,
every-day-of-your-life expression of who you are when you are reaching your full potential.
(The) statement is like a big neon sign that will help (you) find your way out of the swamp when you get stuck.“
The actual words you use for your statement are personal to you and don’t need to have logic. The most important thing is that it is the thing, the feeling, and the thoughts that keep you living intentionally.
So, what is your life purpose, how can you find it?
Reflect on the following questions:
- When you are at your best, what does that look like?
- If you could create your own world, what would it look like?
- What is the impact you want to have on the world?
- What comes up for you?
