What I’ve Learnt

It’s been a while since my last post, the last month has been a significant period of re-discovery for me. To use a metaphor I’ve been revamping my wardrobe (my life being the wardrobe) and throwing put the unflattering outfits and working out how the pieces of clothing I love can work well together and seeking accessories to further enhance my look.

I’ve been getting back in touch with my life purpose in all this. And, now have a renewed energy to pursue my dreams.

I watched the film Shirley Valentine recently, I vaguely remember the film coming out in the 80s when I was a teenager and wondering what all the fuss was about – a middle aged woman going on holiday and having a fling – well, today as I am nearly the same age as her (well, 4 years shy), although I am not quite the bored housewife looking for a fling (honest Mr Rogers!), there is a quote that really resonates for me:

“I have allowed myself to lead this little life, when inside me there was so much more. And it’s all gone unused. And now it never will be. Why do we get all this life if we don’t ever use it? Why do we get all these feelings and dreams and hopes if we don’t ever use them?” (Shirley Valentine)

This resonates with me and where I am right now, living more intentionally to fulfill my life purpose.

How can you live more intentionally? If you could take 2 steps today towards your dream what would they be? Get in touch and let me know, I’d be interested to hear.
